Upcoming Events

• Stake Temple Recommend Interviews: The stake presidency will conduct temple recommend interviews from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m April 26th, May 3rd and May 24th.

  • •  No appointments are needed, except for first-time recommends or weddings. Those appointments should be made with Executive Secretary Andy Johnson at 801-550-8559. Please come to the stake center and wait in the chapel, where a stake presidency member will come and get you.

• Ward Conference (17th Ward) — 10:30 a.m. Sunday, April 26th.

• Stake Primary Service Committee Meeting — 2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 26th, in the primary room of the stake center. This meeting is for all children and adults who are coordinating our stake service project for Primary children.

• Stake Youth Council Meeting — 2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 26th, in the stake High Council room.

• Stake Choir Practice — 2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 26th, in the stake center chapel. Practices are also scheduled on May 3rd in preparation for stake conference.

• Mission Preparation — 3:30 p.m. Sunday, April 26th, in the stake High Council room.

• Fast Sunday — Sunday, May 3rd.

• Stake High Council Meeting — 7:00 a.m. Sunday, May 3rd, in the stake high council room.

• Stake Audit Training — 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 3rd, in the stake relief society room. This meeting is for bishops, counselors, financial clerks, auditors, high councilors with audit responsibilities and the stake presidency.

• Taylorsville Temple Landscaping Assignment — Our stake has been asked to provide groundskeeping and landscaping for the Taylorsville Temple this month. We invite the following wards to help with this assignment.

  •  9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 5th — Taylorsville 16th Ward — 3 volunteers

• Stake Youth Activity — 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 6th, at the stake center. This activity will focus on preparations for stake youth conference. Information will be coming from our stake youth council.

• Welfare Assignment — Our stake has been asked to assist with operations at the Welfare Square Cannery and Deseret Soap Plant this month. We invite the following wards to participate in this assignment.

  •  11:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Thursday, May 7th — Taylorsville 17th Ward — Deseret Soap Plant at 3602 S. 7200 W. — 5 volunteers

• Mother’s Day — Sunday, May 10th.

• 5K Fun Run/Walk— May 16 at the Valley Regional Park. We will be gathering at 8:30 a.m., and the race will start at 9:00 a.m. 

  • The race will begin and end at the main pavilion. 

  • This is a free neighborhood event for all ages. 

  • Everyone welcome. 

  • No scooters, bikes, or dogs. Strollers are welcome at the back of the racers. 

  • Light refreshments afterward. 

• Stake Conference — Saturday and Sunday, May 16-17th. Stake conference will include two sessions on Saturday (4:00 p.m. Priesthood leadership and 7:00 p.m. adult session) and a general session on Sunday at 10:00 a.m.

• Regional Single Adults Fireside — 7:00 p.m. Sunday, May 17th, at the chapel on 3120 W. 4700 South by Truman Elementary. This single-adult fireside will feature speaker Shiloh Luper, who will share his faith journey that helped him overcome 29 years of drug addiction and depression.

• Stake Missionary Coordination Meeting — 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 19th, in the stake High Council room. This meeting is for full-time missionaries, high councilors with missionary and temple assignments, a member of the stake relief society presidency and the stake presidency.

• High Adventure Camp — Wednesday to Saturday, June 3-6, for all young men, 14 and older.

• Seminary Graduation — Sunday, June 7th. Details to come.

• Stake Youth Conference — Thursday to Saturday, June 18-20th.

• YSA Family Home Evenings: Family Home Evenings are held weekly for the young single adults in our stake. Those attending the Taylorsville YSA Ward meet Mondays at 7:00 p.m. at 3120 W. 4700 S. Those attending the Granger YSA Ward meet Mondays at 7:00 p.m. at 4586 W. Woodbury Circle.
